Good Grades

Dr. Yared Sebsibe treated Bamlak twice at the Betsegah Mother's & Children's Hospital.  "Sister" told me how very sick she was, how worried everyone was about her and that they were talking about a 50/50 chance of survival.  Dr. Yared treated her appropriately and aggressively with antibiotics and saved her life.  I will aways be grateful to him and his wonderful staff.

I have now met with Dr. Yared twice and the second time he examined Bamlak in my presence.  He was very pleased with her progress and he subsequently wrote a letter detailing the severity of her illness, her proscribed treatment, the results of the examination, etc. Dr. Yared included in his letter that while Bamlak is currently stable, her condition is severely compromised and she is still very vulnerable to relapse.  He recommended that should be released to her family (that would be me;)) ASAP.  

(Aba, I am sure you are pleased that your granddaughter "got good grades" and Mom, she was mesmerized by the mobile over the examination table::::))))).

Mr. Alemu (my lawyer) has submitted Dr. Yared's testimony to the Ethiopian court, along with other documents, to request an expedited court date. They call this a "special case" and it has been done for other orphans in the past. 

The two Ethiopian court dates that we currently have are Dec. 13 and Dec. 23.  If we are lucky, those dates will be moved up to next week--keep your fingers crossed!  The  court date is the first step and, if all goes well, we then move on to the U.S. Embassy and it's process. One thing at a time, however!
